HOW IT ALL CONNECTS
#KICKBALLQU gives us a real experience to build around. Queens Legacy Lab is the mission. Community Enterprise develops the workforce. Brand Ambassadors expand community engagement. Builders create partnerships and opportunities. Instead of running these as separate programs, #KICKBALLQU gives them a place to work together. The community gets a great experience, while we use everything happening around it to create opportunities.
For our Community Enterprise scholars, this is where the learning happens. They aren't studying a made-up business or completing an assignment that ends when somebody gives them a grade. They're helping us build #KICKBALLQU. That means working with real participants, promoting real causes, helping with Draft Night, creating content, tracking results, solving problems, communicating with partners, and seeing how money moves through an idea. We can teach marketing because there is something to market. We can teach customer service because there are actual customers. We can teach partnership development because there are real partners in the room. The experience creates the lesson.
Our Brand Ambassadors help move all of it. They aren't promoting one flyer or selling one product. They can promote player registration, individual causes, Draft Night, the game itself, Queens Legacy Lab merchandise, and the businesses and organizations connected to the experience. That gives them different things to market to different people while learning what actually gets people to respond. Their work also helps us reach beyond the people who already know #KICKBALLQU and bring new people into the Queens Legacy Lab ecosystem.
Then there are our Builders. #KICKBALLQU gives us a reason to bring business owners, nonprofits, educators, professionals, community leaders, families, and other people doing good work into the same space. We don't need everybody to arrive looking for a partnership. We create the environment and let people meet. From there, a conversation at a kickball game can become a job opportunity, internship, sponsorship, collaboration, mentor, customer, or the beginning of whatever we decide to build next.
That's what makes the model important to us. Everybody doesn't need the same outcome. A player can raise money for their family. A business can meet new customers. A Builder can find someone worth investing in. A Brand Ambassador can earn and build experience. A Community Enterprise scholar can learn skills they can put on a résumé. And somebody else can simply come outside and have a great time. They're all participating in the same experience, but the value can travel in a bunch of different directions.
That's Queens Legacy Lab. We create the experience, then build as much opportunity around it as we can.
What sets us apart isn’t just our process—it’s the intention behind it. We take time to understand, explore, and create with purpose at every turn.
